Tristan continued having these episodes of turning blue 4 times a day Friday - Sunday. Sunday night we decided we needed to take him to his Pediatrician on Monday. Monday morning comes and at 8 am Tristan's lips turned blue and his face went pale again. He was on the couch when it happened and I told Doug to pick him up. Doug picked him up and after a couple seconds he started convulsing and his eyes rolled back into his head. This lasted for about 30 seconds and he came out of it. I immediately called the Pediatrician and I went to the doctors to have them look at him again.
Tristan's doctor looked at him after I explained what had happened. He was going to send us to get an EEG on Wednesday, then Tristan had another seizure and I quickly called the doctor back in so he could see. Our plans immediately changed and the doctor sent us to the hospital.
Through the course of our stay Tristan had an EKG, a chest x-ray, an EEG and a brain MRI. All of these tests came back looking good. They were able to find a medicine that worked well for him and we were able to come home today, Wednesday. Here are some pictures from his stay at the hospital.
This is during his EEG. It measured his brain
activity. They were looking for seizure activity when
they did this test.
Near the end of his hour long EEG, since he slept
through most of it, we needed to wake him up.
He was not interested in that at all.
The EEG specialist that ran the test.
Tristan in his hospital gown. They put an IV in his
right foot and taped the board to his foot
so it wouldn't come out. It was very hard
to see Tristan have his IV put in.
When we came home Grandma Elliot had made
a hat for Tristan.
The medicine he is on makes him very drowsy.
"Mommy, I am so worn out!"
